Inspiring early years setting leaders


The County Council asked Formation to deliver leadership and management training to give aspiring and graduate Early Years leaders the skills they’d need to help transform the early years sector. We delivered a range of residential programmes and training days across five-year period.

What the client asked for

Programmes included two-day and three-day residentials, as well as more advanced follow-up programmes. Programme content included leadership styles, managing conflict, holding challenging conversations, assertiveness and communication.


Participants on the programme were asked about the impact of Formation’s programme some weeks after the end of the training by an external evaluator. Comments included:

“It is clear from the responses some weeks after the completion of the course that the high impact experienced by participants during the course had been maintained some weeks later. It is noteworthy that the course has had such a significant impact that decisions have been considered to take up further study”.
